Concealed Handgun Permits  

The Clerk of Chesapeake Circuit Court, Susan Boudouris, and her staff are required to follow strict state guidelines when performing the necessary background checks for Concealed Handgun Permits. Due to the nature of the detailed due diligence processing times can take multiple weeks. Once we have all of the required documentation, please allow up to 45 business days for processing.

Completed applications for RESIDENT permits shall be submitted to the circuit court of the county or city in which the applicant resides.  

Pricing

• A New Concealed Handgun Permit costs $25.00 for Chesapeake RESIDENTS.
• A Renewal Concealed Handgun Permit costs $25.00 for Chesapeake RESIDENTS.
• A Replacement Concealed Handgun Permit costs $5.00 or $10 depending on the reason for replacement.

Applications will be processed between 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday.
